Our breeding

Tradition, excellence, and passion

For generations, we have known our mare lines and are well aware of the key strengths in inheritance. Our goal is to bring out the outstanding qualities of the Holsteiner: exceptional jumping ability, a top-notch gallop, and a strongly constructed top line. Therefore, top quality is at home at Constanzehof: famous Holsteiner lines such as 4063, 890, 6879, 162, 504, and others have their home here. One of the most successful Holsteiner breeding mares is our mare Ungarin by Fernando, Roman from line 4063. For decades, this line has produced numerous S-jumpers and Grand Prix horses, including four licensed stallions.

The best conditions for good breeding

Our Holsteins benefit from a real locational advantage: the best pastures ensure stable health and resilience, especially in mares and foals. We are convinced that species-appropriate husbandry is the basis for good breeding. The horses are always given the best feed and plenty of exercise. Even in winter, breeding mares and young horses are put out to pasture or paddock in groups of four to five horses every day.

Eight to twelve of our mares are covered each year. Some of the foals are sold, the others remain at Constanzehof for training. Including the six-year-olds, there are always home-bred sport horses for sale.
