Our training
From paddock to success
Success-orientation and experience have been closely linked at Constanzehof for generations. Our expert, highly motivated team of employees dedicate themselves with dedication, expertise, calm and love to their task: turning riding horses into competition winners.
Work with the horses begins at the age of two to three. Of course, talent development is part of this from the very beginning. Young stallions and mares intended for the mare test or stallion performance test are specifically encouraged and prepared. Riding horses are broken in at the age of three ─ with plenty of time, attention and freedom. The one to three-year-olds spend the summer on the spacious pastures at Constanzehof. Plenty of exercise on the best marshland in all weathers not only ensures that the horses are in good health, but also gives them the toughness they need for the demanding sport.

Animal-friendly husbandry
Training and exercise go hand in hand. Before the first performance tests, the four-year-olds enjoy another six to eight weeks of grazing holidays. Even during the intensive training period at the age of five, grazing with conspecifics is part of our youngsters’ daily programme. The species-appropriate life in the herd strengthens their social behaviour and ensures balance and contentment – the best prerequisites for a resilient personality with strong nerves in sporting competition. The aim of our training is to qualify for the Bundeschampionat in Warendorf.
